It's similar to a computer (except vastly superior), in that its programmed with genetic code to keep your heart beating and your other bodily functions working.

 

But its also programmed with ideas, beliefs and behavioral habits. Much of this programming comes from childhood.

After suffering from a traumatic near death experience, I have spent the last 5 years off and on, battling ptsd and anxiety. My journey started with cognitive behavior therapy which prepared me for EMDR. EMDR separated a lot of the physical reactions and triggers. After six weeks, I was largely able to function and was done with it. After some time of reflection, I started Lexapro, as I was still struggling with anxiety. It had been a year and while the anxiety had subsided, I didn’t feel like me. One day I came across Cass Ocana’s ad for hypnotherapy. I had seen hypnotherapy mostly in movies and shows. I am open minded and for whatever reason, felt drawn to it. I messaged her and at the time she offered a free 30 minute session which felt like an intake/ informative style sit down. She offers at least three types of programs. Single sessions, a three session and a more complete six session program. I chose the six. Sessions began within a couple of weeks. She sends appointment reminders. They were via Zoom meetings. At first I was a bit apprehensive with Zoom for therapy. Aside from your standard intermittent Zoom tech issues (mostly on my end), it felt as though it was in person. The six session program has the six live 90 minute Zoom 1 on 1s, weekly assignments, reading material, recorded guided hypno and exercises to teach and promote self hypnosis. In between each session, Cass sends detailed notes from your previous session and checks in to see how you are doing. I found this to be very helpful because I would remember the feelings of the session, but not the details. After reading, they would all come back to me. It also gave me a comfort and an appreciation for her listening skills. As each session and week would happen, I noticed myself shifting. My thought patterns that have/had been with me for as long as I could remember, were quieting and letting my true self live again. I stopped lexapro at around the halfway mark of the program. This was not Cass’ request or idea; just mine. I am feeling the best I have felt since before my trauma. I know I am not “cured”. There was nothing to cure. I needed to only see all the parts of me, let them know I see them and learn how to bring them all together again. It’s a journey and it’s one I welcome now. I perhaps would have gotten here eventually without Cass’ help. I wouldn’t have gotten here this quickly. She is very good at what she does. She reminded me of my previous CB and EMDR therapists in terms of knowledge. It felt more personal though and I didn’t feel like I was being taught or talked to. It felt like a guided experience with someone who wanted me to succeed as much as I wanted it for myself. Hypnotherapy felt like being next to my subconscious and picking up these sort of hints. I felt the more I trusted what I was feeling and just said it, the deeper Cass was able to guide me to self healing and wholeness. I feel the more open you are able to be, the more you will get from this therapy. If you are struggling and feel like the voice inside you is holding you back, I recommend reaching out to Cass. I believe even a single session would be worth it. I hope this information helps and I hope you find peace, love and joy.
